The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

Gabrielle Zevin

Kayleigh's Thoughts

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry starts with cozy charm and heartfelt connection—think bookstores, found family, and quirky island life—but shifts into a more melancholic tone in the second half. While the poetic writing style and early pacing make for a delightful beginning, the latter portion drags and dilutes the emotional impact.

This book had great potential but is better suited as a novella.
