The Personal Librarian

Kayleigh's Thoughts

The Personal Librarian captures an incredibly powerful and complex fiction book rooted in real history, highlighting the tension of the early 20th-century America. While the character’s identity struggle and historical setting are compelling, the slow pacing and romance-heavy subplot distracted from the impact. Still, this book offers a meaningful lens on race, gender, and ambition in a time when none of those could coexist peacefully.

A story I would have loved to learn more about.
