Kayleigh's Thoughts

This snow-drenched thriller delivers on atmosphere but underdelivers on surprise. One by One sets up a classic “locked-room mystery” à la Agatha Christie, with a modern twist—trapped at a remote ski chalet, guests start dying off one by one. While the wintry setting was pitch-perfect for cozy suspense and the pacing kept things moving, the mystery itself felt a bit too predictable. The twist doesn’t twist; it just lands with a thud. Still, the ride was enjoyable, and it’s a great pick for a cold-weather reading binge.

The snowy setting gave me chills—just wish the twist had too.
