Matt Haig
Kayleigh's Thoughts
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is a beautifully written magical realism novel that explores the concept of regret, alternate realities, and the value of life. It follows Nora, a woman who attempts to take her own life and wakes up in the Midnight Library—where each book represents a different version of her life if she’d made different choices. The story is imaginative, introspective, and emotional. Despite the heavier theme, the author manages to bring a hopeful tone throughout. It’s creatively structured and filled with quotes worth highlighting.
This book’s take on regrets, second chances, and the beauty of ordinary life hit me deeply.
