Five Broken Blades

Kayleigh's Thoughts

This Korean-inspired fantasy, Five Broken Blades, is a refreshing change from the typical Euro-centric worlds, and the setup was promising with rich lore and high-stakes intrigue. But while the first half had me hooked, the second half fell flat with unnecessary romantic pairings and YA-style drama that felt out of place.

I wanted to love it—but the forced romance and uneven pacing broke more than just blades.
