The Women

Kristin Hannah

Kayleigh's Thoughts

The Women is a powerful, unflinching story of Vietnam-era trauma, feminine resilience, and forgotten history. While the narrative sometimes feels relentlessly heavy, the depiction of Vietnam War-time nurses is eye-opening and unforgettable. With expert narration by Julia Whelan, this one is best listened to on audio for the full experience.

All of Kristin Hannah’s books make me cry, but sometimes, they also feel like a trauma dump. This one was the latter.
