Kayleigh's Thoughts
The Last Widow is the ninth installment in Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent series, and it just might be the best of them all. The story begins with a chilling kidnapping, followed by two explosions in Atlanta, and launches into a non-stop cult-meets-cop thriller that doesn’t letup. Fans of Slaughter’s gritty, character-driven writing will appreciate the way victim and investigator perspectives collide in high-stakes, emotionally intense scenes.
If you love stories that unpack the psychological dynamics behind cults, this one will pull you in from the first chapter. The pacing is fast, the relationships are layered, and Will Trent’s world continues to deliver some of the strongest thriller writing out there. It was a 24-hour read, and impossible to put down.
I’ve read every Will Trent book, butthisone had me glued to the pages like never before.
