The story begins with a chilling kidnapping, followed by two explosions in Atlanta, and launches into a non-stop cult-meets-cop thriller that doesn’t letup. Fans of Slaughter’s gritty, character-driven writing will appreciate the way victim and investigator perspectives collide in high-stakes, emotionally intense scenes.

If you love stories that unpack the psychological dynamics behind cults, this one will pull you in from the first chapter. The pacing is fast, the relationships are layered, and Will Trent’s world continues to deliver some of the strongest thriller writing out there. It was a 24-hour read, and impossible to put down.
