Never Lie

Never Lie by Freida McFadden follows a couple snowed in at a remote estate, where they uncover disturbing audio files from the home’s previous owner—a missing psychiatrist. As they listen to the old therapy tapes, secrets unravel and danger creeps closer. The premise is eerie, and the pacing is as bingeable as McFadden’s best-known thrillers. However, for seasoned thriller readers, the plot may feel familiar. The twist—while effective—bears a strong resemblance to others in the genre, including one of McFadden’s own books. 

I wanted to love the twist, but I saw it coming a mile away.
