Kayleigh's Thoughts
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is a cozy, small-town Christmas romance that centers on Stella, the owner of a struggling holiday tree farm. In a last-ditch effort to save it, she enters a contest hosted by a popular influencer, but lies on her application, claiming she has a boyfriend. To keep up appearances, she recruits her best friend to pretend they’re a couple.
The novel follows the classic fake-dating trope, with plenty of emotional build-up, romantic tension, and endearing small-town charm. Although the story starts slowly, the emotional payoff and immersive setting ultimately win out. The audiobook narration especially enhances the story, drawing out the heartfelt moments and elevating the reading experience.
The slow start had me unsure, but by the end, I was fully invested—emotional, teary-eyed, and reminded why I love a well-done friends-to-lovers romance.
