Christmasland

Anne-Marie Meyer

Kayleigh's Thoughts

Christmasland by Anne-Marie Meyer is a cozy holiday romance novel that reads like a made-for-TV Hallmark movie (and ultimately, became one). It follows a woman invited to an immersive Christmas destination where all things are merry and bright, and where she meets a grumpy yet charming man who ultimately becomes her love interest. With festive cheer, a magical setting, and all the predictable beats of the genre, this book is designed to deliver heartwarming holiday vibes.

Though the premise is sweet and whimsical, the plot leans heavily on the miscommunication trope. The romance unfolds at lightning speed, requiring readers to suspend disbelief and accept the rushed emotional development. Still, fans of clean, feel-good holiday stories may find Christmasland to be a joyful addition to their seasonal reading stack.

I wanted cozy Christmas magic, but the frustrating miscommunication and lightning-fast romance left me more Grinch than girlie.
