Comparing Two Dreamers, from the Old and New Testament
The Bible is filled with stories of real people with real dreams, just like us. RJ Thesman takes a closer look at the parallels between two Josephs, one in the Old Testament and one in the New Testament. Both Josephs paid attention to their dreams and waited for the Lord's guidance, and their stories encourage us to trust in the Lord. Today, I encourage you to consider - what dreams do you have that you need to trust God with?
Searching for Happiness, or Joy That Comes From God
Happiness is not a bad thing, but it can be misleading. We can see how seeking happiness, rather than joy, got the first humans, Adam and Eve, in trouble. They were created by God in his image, were placed in a perfect environment with everything they would need, in the very presence of God, in relationship with him, and there was only one condition. God said, "You cannot eat from that tree."
Words Matter to God
God is speaking words to us, words that matter. All throughout the Bible, the words of God matter. I've been praying for you this week, that you fall in love with God's Word, see its power in your life, understand it's going to call you into action, and I know that's what God wants for every single one of us.
The Epic Story of the Bible, Part 1: Genesis ; Creation and the Fall
The Bible may not be what you think it is. It is not a shabby collection of half truths, myths and contradictions that have no purpose. The Bible is filled with characters who do not just point to themselves, but point to Christ. Genesis shows us the God of wonder, our need for a Savior and our God of love through the story of creation, Adam and Eve, and the fall of humanity.
