God comforts us with his presence, with his power, and because he understands our need. Only when we remember “the Lord is near” can we avoid anxiety. We are anxious when we’re more focused on our current struggles than on the Lord who is near or when we forget God’s past faithfulness. Philippians 4:5-7 tells us “The Lord is near, do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
