I have been thinking about prayer, and how and when we pray. Please read this passage from James 5, in which he gets right to the point about prayer.
“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. When I moved to California from Puerto Rico, I was 16 years old, and I came with a vocabulary of English words. In Puerto Rico, they teach children from kindergarten through high school English, so I came packed with knowledge of the English language.
I had a lot of words, but I did not have the wisdom to apply that into some sort of a conversation. It took me about eight months until I could actually have a conversation with someone and use some of those vocabulary words, because there is a difference between knowledge and wisdom.
